Report and Query Creation
ClearView starts with the standard XSA report creation wizard, rotate tool, and selector tool
to generate a base query.  The implementation of the query uses a unique approach as
outlined in the "Data Cells" information page.

ClearView’s analytical analysis features include Rotate Layout and Selector tools to reshape
the data view and to “slice and dice” the data cube.

Drill and Drill All features allow easy hierarchical display of data and what-if analysis.
Drilling can be turned on and off. Hierarchies can be changed.

ClearView provides
Flexible Description Display for Paging, Across and Down
dimensions. Users can select the OFA description, row or column label. Plus there is the
option of showing the concatenation of the dimension member name plus description. The
concatenated display can also be used in the selector tool. Users can easily toggle among
the display options.

A
Specify Page Values feature allows users to add or remove members in paging
dimensions without impacting formatted reports. No need to start over because a few
dimension members were not selected in the original query.

An
Expand to Worksheets feature replicates a query worksheet for all page dimensions in
status.  All resulting reports have cell formulas that correctly represent their dimensionality.
For example if there are 5 Organizations in the Paging dimension, ClearView will create 5
worksheets plus a table of contents, and all five worksheets will contain the Excel formatting
done in the original query.

A
Delete Worksheets feature will drop the expanded sheets and return to the original
query. So, for example, if a user wants to make a formatting change, or add some more rows
of data, simply delete the expanded worksheets, make the changes to the original query,
and Expand to Worksheets and it is done.

Zero and NA Rows may be hidden or displayed.

Users can
Replace the Default NA Value representation for each workbook. For example,
one workbook may reflect the value ‘0’ for NA values, while another may use ‘-‘.

An
Offline feature allows clients to use reports, including data formulas, offline where
access to the system is unavailable.  In this mode the user can add modeling features (row
and column formulas, etc.) and do recalculations without disturbing values that are shown
from formula data cells. Upon reconnection to the data source, data cell formula retrieval can
be enabled.
